Dr. Kurnath is a founding partner and co-owner of Partners in Internal Medicine. A native of New Jersey, he completed his undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University and then his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School/Rutgers University. He moved to Rochester and finished his Internal Medicine residency at the Genesee Hospital. He founded Partners in Internal Medicine with Dr. John Jurik. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Geriatrics, last recertified in 2005. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, past president of the Monroe County Medical Society and the Rochester Academy of Medicine. He has been active teaching medical students and internal medicine residents for the past 36 years and is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester. He is also an associate chief of medicine at Rochester General Hospital.
